In March 2026, Thanh Du Minh Co., Ltd. conducted a business trip to Dong Thap, a key sourcing area for Cat Hoa Loc mango in Vietnam. This was the company’s fourth visit to the region, reaffirming the important role of raw materials in its strategy to develop dried mango products.

The trip took place over two days, from March 27 to 28, 2026, with the participation of Mrs Hiep, Mr Kang, and Mrs Park. The purpose of the visit was to assess raw material quality, review current farming practices, and identify potential new partners to support the company’s production expansion plan in 2026.

Why Dong Thap is considered the “capital” of Cat Hoa Loc mango

Dong Thap is located in the Mekong Delta, an area known for its fertile alluvial soil, stable climate, and abundant water supply. These conditions provide a strong foundation for consistent mango growth and high-quality harvests.

Cat Hoa Loc mango grown in this region is known for:

  • Bright yellow skin and balanced shape
  • Thick flesh with low fiber and a naturally sweet taste
  • Distinct aroma
  • Consistent quality across seasons

In addition to large cultivation areas, Dong Thap has developed specialized farming zones and cooperatives, with increasingly standardized farming practices. This makes it a key source of raw materials for the processed fruit industry, especially soft-dried mango products.

Field observations – From orchards to farmers

During the late March harvest period, the working team visited local farms to observe harvesting processes and the selection of qualified fruits.

In addition to checking product quality, the team also listened to practical insights from farmers:

  • Mango cultivation requires experience, especially in controlling flowering time and pest management
  • Fruit quality depends heavily on farming techniques and weather conditions
  • Market prices fluctuate, directly affecting both production costs and selling prices

These factors show that building a stable raw material supply is not only a production issue, but also involves the broader agricultural ecosystem.

Key objectives of the visit

The trip focused on three main objectives:

1. Raw material evaluation

Assessing consistency, ripeness, taste, and suitability for processing standards.

2. Farming process review

Ensuring that partner farms follow safe, transparent practices with traceability.

3. Supply expansion

Connecting with potential farms to increase supply, with a target of tripling volume compared to 2025 to support production and distribution expansion in 2026.

Market challenges

One of the key concerns identified during the visit is price fluctuation depending on season and market conditions.

When prices fall, farmers face pressure on costs and output. When prices rise, businesses face challenges in maintaining stable supply for production.

In response, Thanh Du Minh aims to build long-term partnerships with farmers, focusing not only on sourcing materials but also on sharing value and responsibility within the supply chain.

Connecting value from farm to product

For Thanh Du Minh, each mango is not just a raw material, but a result of natural conditions and the effort of farmers.

The visit to Dong Thap is part of the company’s ongoing effort to build a transparent and sustainable supply chain, where quality is controlled from the source and value is created through long-term cooperation.

The Dong Thap trip (March 27–28, 2026) helped Thanh Du Minh strengthen its Cat Hoa Loc mango supply while opening opportunities to expand production in the near future.

This is an important step in the company’s 2026 development strategy, aiming to improve product quality, stabilize supply, and support the sustainable growth of Vietnamese agricultural products.
