Over the past eight years, BUBU has been more than just a brand – it’s a journey filled with passion and dedication to bring the best of Vietnamese agriculture to the world. We are BUBU, a team of passionate individuals from Vietnam and South Korea, bound by our love for Vietnamese produce and the people who grow it. With a deep respect for local values, we have dedicated ourselves to delivering high-quality dried fruit products to friends across the globe.
A Love for Vietnam
You may have heard – or perhaps never knew – about farmers’ struggles being pressured by middlemen or abundant harvests resulting in losses. These are challenges that have lingered unresolved for years. For us, Vietnamese agricultural products hold incredible value and deserve recognition now more than ever.
I am a Korean person, in 2010, I first set foot in Vietnam. From that moment, I was enchanted by the beauty of the people, the culture, and especially the wonderful produce. This love grew over time, leading my family and me to choose Da Nang as our permanent home. By 2017, we were fortunate to meet young Vietnamese friends who shared our love and passion for local agriculture.
The Journey to Discover Real Value
Together, we embarked on a journey to explore renowned agricultural regions, from Binh Phuoc’s cashew farms to Buon Ma Thuot’s coffee plantations, and from Hoa Loc’s mango orchards to the sprawling pineapple fields of the Mekong Delta. On some trips, we had no idea who we would meet or the exact locations of the farms. But we were lucky and deeply grateful to have received generous help from many local people along this challenging path.
With each household and cooperative we partnered with, our joy wasn’t just in finding good suppliers – it was in knowing that these hardworking, sincere farmers had found stable markets for their produce.
BUBU – A Labor of Love
After nearly a year of planning and preparation, BUBU shop was born. It’s the result of love, persistence, and a desire to elevate Vietnamese agriculture. Despite facing numerous challenges, and even having to close the shop at one point, we never gave up. Our love for Vietnamese produce and our responsibility to thousands of farmers across the country fueled our determination to overcome every obstacle.
Today, BUBU shop offers dried fruit products such as dried mango, dried pineapple, and detox teas made from tropical fruits. Our products are available online and in stores in Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Hanoi. Moreover, BUBU has successfully introduced Vietnamese produce to many parts of the world, especially in South Korea, Japan, and Australia.
Promoting Cultural Values
In 2022, we expanded by opening Madame Hong – Bags & Accessories, a store that specializes in handmade products crafted by traditional artisans from villages across Vietnam. This wasn’t just a new chapter for our company but also a step forward in our mission to preserve and promote Vietnamese cultural values.
We believe that with continued effort, BUBU will keep contributing to the growth of Vietnamese agriculture and the preservation of traditional cultural values. We have faith that, in the near future, Vietnamese agricultural and handcrafted products will leave an even bigger mark on the global stage.
